Just got the best hair cut/dye of my life. I saw Meryl, who I've been seeing for a couple years now. I trust her enough that when I'm not sure what I want exactly, I just say "do whatever you think is best." I always leave feeling like my best and most beautiful self. The salon itself has a nice relaxing atmosphere; I actually think I may have fallen asleep while getting my hair washed... Highly recommend the salon and Meryl!

No doubt her talents shine in the many women's photos posted here, but since she has moved, I have come to appreciate how evenly, consistently, and well she cuts men's hair. I'm temporarily transplanted from NYC for 5 weeks and my curly, kinky, grows-in-multiple-directions hair needed some attention. I picked Orbit based on the look/feel/reviews on Yelp and called to ask for an appointment with a stylist who is good with curly men's hair. I actually was pleasantly surprised that there were very few appointment choices on the two days I asked for (took this as an extremely good sign) and was fortunate to end up with Meryl styling my hair.

She was respectful to what I offered in terms of maintaining my current style and all of the little tricks I've learned over the years that keep me looking good for the 4-5 weeks between cuts. To me the true test for a cut is how it looks after I go home and wash it.

Meryl's work was right on the mark; it came out just as it would with my NYC stylist of many years. Also, Meryl is quite an interesting individual and with two weeks to go in the area, I'm excited to try out her husband's massage studio in Colchester; I'm sure that I will not be disappointed.

Thank you Meryl; if I'm back next summer, you'll see me again!

Meryl is the best! She gave all of my girls their first haircuts and me my best haircuts! She is great at what she does, takes her time and is very thorough. She is always fun to visit with, and taught us some great hairdos for my girls. When she moved away we didn't get our hair cut for a whole year, we just couldn't bring ourselves to move on!

I loved my salon day at Orbit! Everyone was friendly and inviting. They were great about scheduling my daughter in last-minute. Meryl was my stylist and hair colorist. She also cut my daughter's wild locks. She did a fantastic job on us both — hands down this was the best style I have had in 7 years since I left my stylist out West.

Had such a great experience here today with Meryl after not having had my hair cut or colored in over a year. My hair looks better than it ever has and I felt so comfortable with Meryl. We moved here from upstate New York about 8 months ago and I have been trying to find a place and someone to do my hair for a while now. Definitely hard to trust someone new. Meryl asked all the right questions and knew exactly what I was looking for. The area is very laid back and comfortable to be in. Loved the care that was taken including offering a beverage multiple times as well as a hot towel after shampooing. I'm extremely happy with the results and will be back.

I have been flying to NYC for my ridiculously expensive haircuts on 5th Avenue for a dozen years about twice a year. After a recent move to Washington, D.C., I decided to research for a new local stylist. I went to one of the best I could find and was disappointed. While back in Vermont I decided to give my amazing Vermont massage therapist's (Merlin Trefethen) recommendation a try...it was his wife, Meryl Trefethen, at Orbit. I was nervous to do so in case I didn't like her cut; it would be awkward to still see Merlin for my Vermont massages. However I did just that. Meryl is a treasure! Not only did I LOVE the cut, I loved the neck massage, hot towels and her gentle, yet thorough head massage and shampoo! She was outstanding! It was an amazing experience. Do yourself a favor and "Experience" a cut by Meryl. It was the first time in a long time I started receiving a lot of compliments on my hair! Yay Meryl!

Meryl did a great job fixing my hair, which was dried out from a balayage treatment done elsewhere. She listened to my preferences for hair color and conditioning treatment, and two hours later I had much healthier looking and feeling hair. She didn't pressure me into other services or products, and she was very thoughtful and considerate, offering refreshments and magazines. Was able to get a fairly last-minute appointment as well. Reasonable prices and ample free parking.

Straight up! No BS, no drama. Meryl is an exceptional stylist utilizing not only vast knowledge but professional advice on the best direction that "your" hair should go. This is a woman to listen to. I may want long, gorgeous, flowing locks, but it's not happening! Getting an individual design from Meryl gives you not only a fabulous look, but also functional! I love this woman!!!
